Mackenzie Wright
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Mackenzie works with youth (12+), adults, and couples who may be struggling with grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship concerns, stress, burnout, and anxiety. Her previous experience as a first responder and a supportive counsellor for survivors of domestic violence has helped develop her client-centered, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction approach that meets clients where they are in their wellness journey.

With a trauma-informed and client-centred lens, Mackenzie recognizes the importance of collaboration, validation, and building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and respect. She fosters a safe and supportive environment where collaborative exploration helps clients recognize and build on their existing strengths, supporting the development of mental wellness and resilience.
Mackenzie takes an eclectic approach, integrating principles and techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities to support the best possible outcomes for her clients. She draws from approaches such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Mackenzie has completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to better support couples navigating relationship challenges. She is currently furthering her clinical education by completing training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Training & Experience
Mackenzie holds a Diploma in Police Foundations and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies. She has also completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Through her academic training and associated work and placement experiences, Mackenzie has developed a strong appreciation for active listening, empathy, and approaching others with humility, curiosity, and compassion.
