Subject Title: (Starting Date) Practicum Placement

Please include your location and willingness to travel to practicum location (Kemptville, Ontario) to complete in-person sessions.

Position Description:

This position includes offering counselling services as a Clinical Intern both in-person and virtually (online and/or phone) to clients aged 10+.

This position will require the student to obtain their own external supervisor who meets the criteria for their practicum placement and corresponding governing body (ie. CRPO, OCSWSSW). The external supervisor may require additional payment of fees, and this will be the sole responsibility of the student and will not be covered by the placement site.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • be a Masters level student who has completed all necessary course work prior to their practicum placement

  • be comfortable securing and working with an external supervisor in order to complete the necessary requirements for practicum placement

  • have the ability to complete in-person client sessions in Kemptville, Ontario, as well as virtual sessions from a secure home office as needed

  • when virtual is needed: have access to high-speed internet, a secure and quiet space to provide sessions, and video/audio capabilities

  • have flexible availability, including evening and weekend time to dedicate to practicum clients

  • manage time wisely, be motivated to learn and be an active member of the team

  • the ability to obtain both Direct and Indirect Client Contact Hours through Intake, Screening, client sessions, etc.

  • the opportunity to gain experience working with children (10+), adolescents, adults and couples/family with mild to moderate mental health difficulties

  • use of company email, booking software and management system with secure video platform

  • potential ability to continue collaboration or employment upon completion of practicum

  • opportunity to gain experience and insight in the private practice setting of psychotherapy
