Meet Courtney…
(Accepting Clinical Supervision Clients)
She is passionate about supporting and encouraging others throughout their life journey. As a wife and mother, she is deeply committed to promoting the mental health of individuals, couples, and especially parents, with the belief that strong families help nurture healthy communities.
Courtney is a Registered Psychotherapist and is currently completing her Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy degree. After earning her Masters in Counselling Psychology, Courtney pursued further training with the Trauma Research Foundation in Traumatic Stress Studies, as well as with the Yale Child Study Center (Yale University, under Dr. Eli Lebowitz) in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
In addition, she has advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, approaches she integrates into her trauma-informed, attachment-focused work.
Grounded in a humanistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed perspective, Courtney has a special interest in working with clients experiencing relationship and attachment challenges, developmental trauma, and those connected to the foster care and adoption community.
Prior to entering the psychotherapy field, Courtney worked professionally with children and youth in educational and private settings. Her experience with adolescent mental health and supporting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities brings insight into her psychotherapy practice.
